Blue hour turns golden on the Mall

The colors really popped the morning this was taken about 20 minutes before sunrise.

Views like this make Washington, D.C. one of a kind. Peering beyond the columns of the Lincoln Memorial makes me ponder what is was like when Augustus would look over Rome from the Palantine Hill or the ancient Greeks would survey Athens from the Parthenon.⁠

The past meets the present

There is a magical serenity when visiting the Lincoln Memorial early in the morning. Walking the monument when no one else is there creates a visceral connection to the past, present and a future to which I aspire. It reminds me that I'm walking in the shadow of someone with great humility, great empathy and an even greater wisdom.⁠
